Bullet Train

Cardiovascular Services at Harrison

Heart care at Harrison frequently begins with a visit to our nationally renowned Emergency Department. In this Level III trauma center our “pit crew” rapidly assesses and treats those suspected of having a heart attack. In this innovative chest-pain clinic, our average “door-to-balloon” time—that critical period between arrival and lifesaving treatment—ranks among the best in the nation.

If your heart needs care, our cardiovascular services offer the latest diagnosis treatment tools:

Three advanced cardiac catheterization labs

Electrophysiology                           • Echocardiography

Angiography                                  • Nuclear imaging

Angioplasty                                    MRI

Cardiac CT multi-slice imaging         Peripheral Vascular Suite

Heart Surgery Program

Our board-certified cardiologists and cardiac surgeons are skilled at the most advanced technologies—including state-of-the-art electrophysiology—to perform less-invasive, or even non-invasive, therapies. If surgery is necessary, we offer lifesaving angioplasty and specially equipped surgery suites for heart valve and coronary artery bypass surgeries.

Based on patient outcomes, Harrison's cardiac surgery program has been ranked No. 1 in the state for 2007 by HealthGrades. This measure by the leading healthcare quality ratings company places us among the top 10 percent in the nation for cardiac surgery. That’s the result of our exceptional team of cardiologists, surgeons, technologists, and nurses specially trained in the care of a heart patient—and the individualized care every patient receives.

In the rare instance that a patient requires complex specialty surgical services—such as a heart transplant—we facilitate care through our unique collaboration with UW Medicine Regional Heart Center, the centralized heart and lung resource for the Pacific Northwest.

Thoracic & Vascular Surgery

Our specialists focus entirely on vascular and thoracic treatments, resulting in the most intensive experience in the specialty. With advanced technology—such as endovascular stent graft repair—less invasive treatments are more often a possibility. We are proud to offer our region such a high level of sophisticated service in a program affiliated with the University of Washington, where our board-certified vascular and thoracic surgeons also are members of the teaching faculty.

Recovery

Harrison’s Intensive Care and Progressive Care units provide the high level of care and attention you need throughout your stay to support your full recovery. Because we believe that families play a role in healing, we welcome them at the bedside, as well as during our patient education and follow-up support.
